DEMOCRACY FOR SALE…. HURRY LIMITED PERIOD OFFER

Alas! The Indian politicians were relaxed over the statement made by honourable Supreme Court of India, stating that “freebies” can’t be treated as corruption.
Indian can’t imagine a single participant either to Panchayat Sarpach post or for the member of legislative assembly or the parliament, who have had not offered  the offer of free bies in one or the other form, some may be in cash, costly goods, or kind .. Whatever the form may be, the end result is their success in general elections. The recent statement is a death blow to election commission which is mulling over reforms and prevent unfit people from occupying g the legislatures .there are many instances where the rule breakers are becoming rule makers. Many of them have occupied the highest offices also! I don’t know whether it’s a world-wide phenomenon, but it’s a very common thing in India to buy votes, and buy seats in open market! In recent Andhra Pradesh Panchayat elections people openly purchased Sarpanch seats shedding as high as one crore Indian rupees! Obviously their aim to have good returns on their investment after elctions.you can imagine in  what way the Sarpach elect  is going to serve ,sorry earn.
I know that money makes many things and monkey things, but I saw that in India it also makes you politician. Things are getting worse day by day, much to the irony of nation. Most ineligible people are becoming bureaucrats and politicians, this is the cause for policy paralysis, and this is the reason for increased corruption. I wonder why in some form takes most ineligible people as bureaucrats than those who truly deserve just in the name of reservation. The mechanism of reservations is also not properly channelized in India, it is sad to say those who truly deserve the fruits of reservation are not benefitting, but only those who manipulate the things are reaping from the reservation tree.
I don’t want to talk now about this issue now, my topic of the time is about the “freebies”. The name suggests that freebies are free but there is a cost of vote involved in it, which no one recognises. Your selling democracy’s foundation right to vote and elect your representative .people obviously   end  with bleak future after every election for the past 65 years .

This freebies are the major influence to mind-sets’ of most marginalised ,backward and people who are desperate about money. They often forget the fact that they are putting their future at stake for petty things like bicycles, laptops, televisions, golden mangala sutras [sacred thread].they fail to observe the fact that politicians are buying votes in the name of freebies very smartly. This is a very good investment, so invest very huge sums in elections knowing the returns once they become the part of nations law making body..

PROMISES NOW PAY LATER IN INSTALMENTS
Some political PARTIES in the name of promises give this “paybies” to people after elections with their “seal “over the goodies.so as to remind the people who use the goods about he party behind their good! The situation become too worst ,the people who don’t have a proper house to dwell and water to drink ,toilets, and  other social and physical infrastructure ,but have television sets offered by  the parties, bycycles, and laptops, where will they keep them! There are more than 85, 000 villages which have not yet seen power supply! What’s their primacy livelihood or unnecessary electronic and other garbage?

Aren't these corrupt practises? Aren’t they corrupt the peoples mind set? And influence them? So should we treat such kind of promises as corrupt promises or not?

Other side:
But we cannot generalise all freebies to cash or kind that benefits the individual. There is other side to these freebies. An election campaigner, who intends to become a member of the house, can promise the people the “necessary” goods that benefit the entire spectrum of the people instead of a few. These include promises to build physical infrastructure like roads, power, disaster relief centres, etc... That helps a society to sustain and social infrastructure like health centres, schools, e-seva centres, cooperatives etc... That brings people together and maintains universal brotherhood and harmony.

There can also be promises for good governance, better functional democracy etc... This shall not be treated as corrupt practises. Hence the supreme court must make difference between various kinds of freebies and their effects.it can’t give a generalized  opinion, which encourages all ready corrupted politicians.it should consider the views of election commission before giving a verdict that has huge repercussion on the future democracy.
Finally the onus is on the people whether to choose the freebies of first kind that is in cash and kind or the freebies that give shape to directive principles of state policy mentioned in our constitution. The first one gives instantaneous short span delightment ,where are the latter one gives better future for all stake holders involved ,it guarantees a better nation and better and more prosperous world. But the patience does matters!
The election commission must take the issue seriously and should address this problem of freebies. The election reforms committee shall give a special attention towards this aspect.it is nothing less than “paid votes” on the lines of paid news. All responsible citizens can check this menace and ensure a greater democracy on earth
After all India is a free democracy not the paid democracy… JAIHINDH

Agony in the world of Islam

Day to day in many parts of the Islamic world like Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Iran, and many others there is a growing violence against the people. People are losing faith in democracy ,sectarian violence reinvigorating, rulers metamorphosed in adamant tyrants ,spreading bloodshed ,total devastation of towns and cities into mere debris of ashes, mass exodus, lawlessness, uncountable live losses and what not ?this is the ugly shape of many Muslim nations ,this is the heart wrenching situation of people there? Why is this happening? What happened to these nations whose fault is this? Who’s wrong and who’s right? When will this strove will end? When will peace returns to these lands and when will people smile again? When will……………….?

The rulers are made for the people. When the same people don’t want them ,there is a moral obligation up on the rulers to abdicate the throne in favour of a person of people’s choice though he might be elected by the people democratically though he might have proper tenure, yet when people demand he should resign from the position .That’s  what true  democracy means .There is no meaning in sticking to the throne even when the subjects cursed the ruler at the cost of the nation, ruing it politically and economically and bringing the total devastation .Let us consider the situation prevailing in few of the nations.

Syria portrays a worst situation among the nations currently facing the civil unrest and lawlessness. Its president’ Bashar al asad ‘is very adamant in getting down. His adamantine nature has caused death of more than two lakh people in the country. Yet the heart of the tyrant is not melted it seems. Several thousands have fled to neighbouring countries of Jordan, Lebanon, and turkey as refugees. Whom he wish to rule in the graveyard they made out of massacres? Isn’t his against the spirit of “republic”.

According to’ Chanakya ‘the great Indian political thinker nearly more than 2000 years ago said in his “Arthashasthara” [the science of polity] that  “ in the happiness of  his subjects lies the kings but not in happiness of king lies the happiness of his subjects and a king shall not do anything against the wishes of his subjects”. But Bashar al asad is following this the other way! At least now he should relax his iron fist and save the struggling nation.

Egypt showcases a different picture. Egypt had a first democratically elected government after almost thirty years of hoisin Mubarak’s despotic rule. The ecstasies haven’t reminded for long, the Mohamed Morsi government had just completed one year of its rule.

And now a civilian unrest has broken, military intervened again to restore peace, the government was dissolved. The reasons for the situation in Egypt seems to be socio political in nature .no improvement in the status of unemployment, raising inflation, growing fear of anti-secular policies of the government, and finally the failure of president to meet the expectations of the people. All this have led to mass demonstrations at Egypt’s famous tharir-square. Ultimately bringing doom to morsi lead Muslim brotherhood government. In this case at least the blood shed is reduced with military siding with people instead of its rulers. The situation might have ended on a better note if morsi had resigned before the military coup. This had brought utter defamation over his reputations which lead him to the presidential chair.

In The recent elections in Iran the people elected a moderate president Hassan rohani and gave a blow to Ahmadinejad whose enticing acting brought Iran to the verge of war and deteriorate d economy and nation as well as the people proved smarter here. They must be appreciated for the change they brought in a perfect way.

In the desert kingdom of Saudi Arabia the government passed “nitaqat” law recently .this law makes it compulsory for the local employer to employee the local youth at 10 % in total companies’ work force. This is a major step to thwart the growing unrest among the youth of the kingdoms, though at the cost of immigrant cheap labour from third world countries. This suggest that the kingdom ‘s people can no longer enjoy the medieval king size life with the dwindling of its oil resources and decreasing demand due to development of alternate sources of energy. This is also an indicator for an upcoming unrest in the kingdom.

The unrest in Turkey is of a different kind. People demonstrated against the government’s decision to convert the green gezi park at CBD in Istanbul in to a concrete tower. Ultimately the people won against the will of government making peace.

The conflict faced by Palestine is well known. How much they have to suffer, till how long they have to suffer only god knows. The problem is following with politician’s wrong ideologies instead of people’s aspirations.

The Arab spring which kindled the reforms among many Arab nations needs to rekindle for newer which are more people centric.

These geographically disadvantaged nations of west Asia and Middle East instead of fighting against the common enemies of terrorism, poverty, women oppression, despotism, evils of climate change, desertification, etc…, they keep fighting with their own people and among themselves leading to chaos in the region.

The issue ‘s of these nations is being internationalised when big powers like the USA ,UK ,Russia and china take sides.it resembles the cold war era grouping which will further create fear confusion among many other nations.

These big powers must help to restore democracy in these regions. But they are interested in only strategic advantages, resource mobilisation, resource exploitation, etc... But not genuinely interested in the plight of the people of these regions and their problems. A mere geographical and political entity doesn’t make a nation. A nation means people and people mean everything for a nation.

Pic: make earth a place to live in peace holding together.

Hence the rulers must strive for the wellbeing of its people instead of theirs and thus cope up for the sustainable development of these regions and people spreading happiness and prosperity which is the sole essence of life. The purpose of life is to live. Let us live it more cheerfully and giving life a meaning.
